There are many kinds of pasta, but angel hair pasta is perhaps the thinnest. Angel hair pasta is also known as capellini, whose literal meaning is “thin hair.” Its other variant, capellini d’angelo, literally means “angel hair.”

Try out this simple and easy angel hair pasta salad. 

* 1-16 oz pkg. angel hair pasta, cooked according to package directions
* 1 cup cole slaw mix
* 3/4 cup green onions, sliced
* 1 cup ranch salad dressing

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Makes 8 servings.

Pasta Trivia: Each pasta each has its own particular sauce used based on how long they are cooked, their consistency, their ability to hold the sauce and how easy they are to eat. For example, amatriciana, a sauce made of bacon and tomatoes, is typically poured over bucatini pasta (hollow spaghetti).
